Community Outreach: Scotsville Primary School
At VDM Optometrists, we believe in the power of giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the lives of those around us. Our recent Mandela Day community outreach project at Scotsville Primary School is a testament to this commitment, where we provided essential eye care services to students, ensuring they have the clear vision they need to succeed academically and beyond.
Understanding the critical role that vision plays in a child’s education, our team of dedicated Optometrists and staff went to Scotsville Primary School.
Our goal was to provide comprehensive eye tests to all students from Grade R to Grade 7, identifying those in need of corrective eyewear and offering necessary health checks.
The project was a resounding success, with our team conducting eye tests for an impressive 1,015 children. Through our thorough assessments, we identified 157 students who required spectacles to enhance their vision and overall quality of life. Each child who needed spectacles received a pair at no cost, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to learn and grow without the barrier of impaired vision.
VDM Optometrists is dedicated to continuing our community outreach efforts, and we invite you to join us in our mission to provide clear vision for all. Whether you are an individual, a business, or an organization, there are many ways you can get involved and support our initiatives
